LOCAL: Supporting local arts and culture
Heart of The Tribe is a new contemporary art gallery based on Glastonbury High Street…
Representing artists from the Somerset area, they provide both emerging and established artists a platform to share their work. With the goal to make art accessible to all, the gallery hosts an inclusive and non-judgemental space which presents the very best of South West contemporary art, with a summer of exciting exhibitions lined up.
Always looking to support and empower the art community, Heart of The Tribe offer creative workshops and talks in the event space at the bottom of their beautiful garden. With opportunities for any member of the public to come and listen to an educational talk, you can also book yourself in to one of their workshops to learn a new skill or perhaps enhance an existing one. At a very competitive rate members of the public can book out the event space for most endeavours (creative or otherwise) also enjoying access to the wonderful garden.
Proud supporters of the community project ‘The Glastonbury Mural Trail’, Heart of The Tribe have funded several new murals around the town, forming part of a free outdoor exhibition that can be enjoyed by visitors and residents alike. Visit the gallery for a free copy of the mural trail map, which takes you on a beautiful journey to view almost 50 different artworks.
“We hope to bring a fresh, modern vibe to the High Street and provide an inspiring destination for art lovers. We are excited to be able to enrich the cultural landscape of Glastonbury and want the local community to experience art and see what variety of talent we have on our doorstep. You shouldn’t have to go to a city to attend an installation or contribute to a collective” says Kim von Coels, Gallery Manager.
