The Make A Will campaign will be running from 1st – 30th September. We have partnered with local solicitors who are waiving their fee to offer you the opportunity to write a new will, or update a current will. Instead supporters are encouraged to make a voluntary donation to Naomi House & Jacksplace. Suggested donations are £150 for a single will and £220 for a joint will.
Help support families like Ebony’s
Ebony has a rare progressive neurological disorder called Ataxia-telangiectasia, which affects her nervous and immune systems. She loves to regularly visit Jacksplace to see her friends, relax and have fun, while she receives the specialist nursing care she needs.
“I like Jacksplace because they don’t treat you like kids and they don’t treat you like you’ve got a disability. They treat you like one of their own.” – Ebony
How it works
- Simply call the solicitor of your choice during opening hours, between the dates of 1st to 30th September, to book an initial appointment. The appointment itself doesn’t need to be within those dates.
- At the initial appointment you will explain what you want i.e. what assets you have and who you want to benefit, and the solicitor will tell you if this can be done as a basic or standard will. The solicitor will then agree with you the donation to be made to Naomi House & Jacksplace, The suggested donation amounts are £150 for a single will and £220 for a joint will. If your will is not basic e.g. involves tax or other specialised legal advice, the solicitor will tell you and agree the donation before going ahead.
- If what you need requires specialist advice that cannot be included under the scheme, the solicitor will advise you of this and give you a separate price for that work. All participating solicitors reserve the right to charge you a fee if your will is not basic or standard.
There is no obligation to include Naomi House & Jacksplace in your Will, but if you do choose to leave a gift to the hospices, it would be very much appreciated.
