Award-winning Private Residential Nursing Homes in Hook, Basingstoke & Frimley…
Forest Care Ltd are a multi-award winning, family-owned, and managed group of four luxury private residential nursing homes – Rowan Lodge, Oak Lodge, Holly Lodge and Cedar Lodge in beautiful Hampshire & Surrey countryside locations. With stimulating environments and caring teams, onsite nurses 24/7 and a care/nursing staff to resident ratio of 1:4 (higher than the industry average) we are committed to providing the highest standards of person-centred care to ensure every resident is happy, secure, and fulfilled in their day-to-day life.
Forest Care’s homes are activity-led, each with a dedicated activity team and a packed weekly schedule of therapeutic group, individual and one-to-one activities for residents to enjoy. Activities are tailored towards the individual, supported by life story work, in line with Forest Care’s ethos of a person-centred approach to care.
Our team at Rowan Lodge in Hook, led by NAPA qualified Terri Eakins (who won the National Activity Providers Association ‘Service Recognition Award’ in 2022 and was a finalist in the ‘Activity Provider of the Year’ category at the National Care Awards 2021), delivers meaningful activities adapted to the daily wishes of residents. NAPA are the UK’s leading activity and engagement charity, supporting care services with ideas, resources, and training to prioritise wellbeing with a focus on satisfying ten core needs: Creative, Cultural, Educational & Learning, Emotional, Esteem, Intellectual, Physical, Sensory, Social and Spiritual.
Activities reflect equality and diversity from visiting entertainers, arts & crafts, live music and Tai Chi to silent discos, Classic Car events, Winter snow globes, themed afternoon tea parties, pampering days, and intergenerational activities. Residents regularly celebrate cultural days such as India Independence Day, Australia Day, Mardi Gras, Cinco de Mayo and Bastille Day, and charity awareness days such Dementia UK’s ‘Time for a Cuppa’ and Macmillan’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’. Previous events at Rowan Lodge include a ‘Night at the Opera’, ‘The Ritz at Rowan’, circus performers and a ‘drive-in’ outdoor cinema experience boasting classic Cadillac cars while residents watched a medley of their favourite film moments.
