Henley and Marlow is home to some of the best vineyards in the UK, where you can sample their wine, embark on tours and tasting and more. We take a look at some of our favourites, in no particular order!
Russells Water,Henley on Thames,Oxfordshire. RG9 6EU
JoJo’s Vineyard is nestled in the picturesque village of Russells Water, 6 miles outside of Henley-on-Thames, just next door to the well known The Five Horseshoes Pub.
They released their first still wine in 2023, with JoJo’s sparkling wine set to be released towards the end of 2024. Tours and tastings will start in 2024. The amazing views from the vineyard have prompted friends to say JoJo’s is Tuscany in England, a glorious compliment indeed.
Fairmile, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire RG9 2LA
Last year, Fairmile Vineyard celebrated their tenth anniversary of planting vines. Unusually, the vineyard lies within a town boundary on the steep, chalky, south-facing slope along the tree-lined A4310 Fairmile trailing north out of Henley towards Nettlebed then Oxford.
Visitors arrive by train, boat, bus, car, bike, or on foot to enjoy stunning views of the Chiltern Hills, and fabulous sparkling wines made from the classic varieties of Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay.
Fairmile’s award-winning wines can be bought from a number of local stockists or direct from the vineyard’s cellar door, or online shop.

Oaken Grove Vineyard is another gem in the Henley area, known for its dedication to organic and biodynamic viticulture practices.
Set amidst picturesque countryside, Oaken Grove specialises in producing premium English wines, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and sparkling varieties. Visitors can enjoy informative tours of the vineyard, tastings of their exceptional wines, and perhaps even participate in special events or workshops.

Chiltern Valley Vineyard is a renowned winery located just a short drive from Henley. With over 40 years of winemaking experience, Chiltern Valley produces a diverse range of award-winning wines, from crisp whites to full-bodied reds. Visitors can explore the vineyard’s scenic grounds, learn about the winemaking process on guided tours, and indulge in tastings of their finest creations.
