You have extensive experience of advising on multi-jurisdictional mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring and fundraising, complex commercial contracts and environmental, social and governance matters – how will this blend with the current corporate and commercial offering?

Wansbroughs is well-established in the local community with a great reputation and a strong offering.

As a firm we have a fabulous blend of local expertise and wider knowledge coupled with the ability to handle a real variety of complex work.

The creation of the new team presents us with an opportunity not only to increase our local presence, but also to advise on transactions at a national and international level. 

You have a newly formed team of 6 including yourself – what can you offer your business clients to make 2022 a business year to remember?

I was born in Marlborough and grew up knowing lots of the excellent family-run businesses in the area that are still thriving today.

I’ve been lucky enough to spend my career working in exciting countries and with interesting people round the globe. For me, the move back to Wiltshire provides an excellent opportunity to take my experience of transactions (big and small) and bring it back to a great legacy firm with deep roots in the Wiltshire area.

Businesses have had 18 months of uncertainty and have had to confront challenges that could not have been foreseen – how will you work with local businesses to help them going forward?

We’re in a period of intense change and we will bring a dynamic approach to supporting clients as their offering evolves to meet the needs of a fast-moving market.

We are all about long-term relationships. There are lots of family businesses in Wiltshire, many of which we know and have worked with for a long time (personally and professionally) and this is something we want to continue to build upon. We will also be seeking to build our long term relationship both with early stage ventures and large, established, businesses which are growing their offering in the West country.

If you could sum up in one sentence your hopes for the new team, what would you say?

I’d like to look back with my team in ten years’ time and be able to say we built on Wansbroughs’ already strong reputation as a trusted advisor to local and national businesses, had a positive impact on our community and made the most of living and working in this beautiful part of the world.
