NEW FOREST: Ukraine Support Evening at Furlong Shopping Centre
Join your community on Saturday 19th March at 6pm – 7pm for an evening of support and solidarity for the families from Ukraine who are suffering in the conflict…
When? Saturday 19th March, 6pm – 7pm
Where? Furlong shopping centre courtyard (congregate by the middle tree)
Millions of Ukraine families have been forced to flee their homes due to the terrible ongoing conflict.
The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) is an umbrella group of 15 charities and, as the conflict in Ukraine continues, they desperately need monetary donations to help with food, water, shelter and medical assistance. Every £1 they raise is matched by the UK government.
Our community are invited to show their compassion for these families in an evening of support and solidarity for those who are suffering.
After a brief and informal introduction from Rev Adam Skirton from Poulner Baptist Chapel; children and adults can get involved with having their faces painted in Ukrainian colours, hanging a dove (symbol of peace, kindly donated by one of our stores) on the wish tree or simply holding a tea light to show their support.
100% of all donations received during this event will go to the Disasters Emergency Committee.
This event is for everyone to show Ukraine that, despite being so far away, we all care and want to unite together to help.
